SOLD OUT ReEnergise Retreat, Andalusia, 16th-20th September 2024 (Deposit Only)

(4 customer reviews)

Ready to head for the hills, surrounded by nothing but nature, sunshine and good humans (plus some very cute animals) and reenergise your entire being? Me too! Enter Cortijo el Cachette in September….

A beautiful, 150-year old traditional farmhouse situated in 80 acres of land planted with Spanish olive groves and oak trees. There is a incredible pool within a walled enclosure that frames the Andalusian countryside beautifully creating the feel of a secret sunshine paradise, an outdoor ice bath (yes you ARE going in) and a courtyard garden with a back terrace offering an al fresco dining experience with sunset views over the hills and beyond.

The farmhouse has recently been renovated and revamped with eco-friendly considerations to lower its impact on the environment. Waste is sorted and composted on site, working with volunteers who run permaculture projects on the land. You’ll also meet the farm’s furry friends who live on-site, it was very difficult not to try and stash Bumpy Road (wobbly headed cat) and Lenny (adorable t-shirt wearing dog) into our hire car at the end of April’s retreat but we resisted!

The farmhouse exists on acres and acres of private land which you can of course explore whenever the mood strikes and there are plenty of peaceful flower filled nooks you can curl up in and read, journal, ruminate. There’s even a grand piano in the living room if you feel like serenading or being serenaded.

So what will your days look like? Honestly…However you want them to look…I’m a firm believer that a retreat should be a place for you to really lean into your own intuition and go with your own flow which is why every practice and meal time is optional.

Morning practice will be an energising and explorative creative/dynamic flow and evening practices will be restorative and yin based to help balance the nervous system, iron out physical tension and release the mind monsters!

The rest of the morning/afternoon is yours to do with what you want (psssst there will of course be a massage therapist on site should you what you want be a rub down). Said Massage therapist is also an incredible breath-work facilitator and will be hosting two breath-work sessions during your stay.

You will be fed 3 hearty  family style meals a day and no, being on retreat does no mean tiny meals or restricted eating. All food will be colourful, plentiful, nutrient rich, locally sourced and vegetarian

Both yoga spaces are delicious in their own way, the outdoor for obvious reasons…it’s outdoor! And overlooks the stunning layered landscape but the indoor is extremely charming especially in the mornings when the sun comes up and fills the whole space with light and warmth. The energy in this place is so very special, I’m really excited to be able to share it with you and move together on the daily.

The farmhouse offers comfortable and unpretentious accommodation with plain decor and a lived-in, cozy feel. For the cooler nights, both sitting rooms have wood burning fireplaces and comfy sofas with plenty of books and board games.

For sunnier days, the house is naturally ventilated (for ecological and architectural reasons there is no air conditioning) though each room is equipped with a fan to keep you cool. All bedrooms have their own ensuite bathroom.

  1. Julian Kimmings

This was my second Third Wave Yoga retreat and it’s a pretty safe bet that I’m hooked.

Carrianne’s knowledge, warmth and humour show in her teaching style, making practise fun and inclusive while still challenging.

The food was amazing – fresh, colourful and delicious! The setting was so peaceful.

After a week of exercise, breath-work, great food, interesting conversation and laughing until I cried, my mind feels completely relaxed, my body energised and my heart is so full of love.

They say you are who you spend you time with. This week I feel like the most relaxed, happy, interesting and loving person.

Is it time for the next one yet?

I’d never been for a yoga retreat before, but this experience was better than I could’ve ever imagined. Carrianne is an excellent teacher and made me feel very comfortable, safe and engages her students in a way that makes you feel encouraged and capable. Relearning how to be capable is something really important to me for personal reasons, and I’m just really grateful to Carri and the entire group that went on this retreat for helping me find my strength and joy again. I cannot wait for the next one- sign me up!

Another incredible retreat with Third Wave Yoga, from sunrise yoga practices to relaxing yin evening sessions overlooking olive groves and mountains. Carrianne is an absolute ray of sunshine whose flows are fun, energising, challenging (in a good way!) and refreshing. She is incredibly supportive as a teacher, bringing warmth, humour and bundles of positive energy to her classes. I am so grateful to her and the amazing bunch of humans who braved ice baths and Twister! Special mention goes to Lenny the dog, the piano and the peanut butter cookies.

Carrianne’s Andalusia retreat was a spontaneous decision for me, but it turned out to be an unforgettable experience that continues to hold a special place in my heart, even several months later.

A private olive-grove paradise, drenched in sunshine throughout our stay, the venue offered inviting spaces for practice indoors and out, a serene pool and grand piano. It truly epitomised everything a ‘retreat’ should be. We enjoyed delicious meals together, and bonded each evening, sharing stories and laughter til bedtime.

The retreat’s diverse itinerary included energising flow and restorative yin sessions, an ‘invigorating’ ice bath, breathwork, massage and a handstand workshop. All of this added a unique sense of adventure and growth to the retreat and really helped the group bond.

Carrianne is an exceptional teacher, a charming and enthusiastic hostess, and someone who’s passion for yoga truly shines through. Her personality is naturally supportive and empowering, she did an amazing job fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere throughout, and we were all sad when it was time to say farewell. See you next time!
